Wow. I've always liked the lines of the Benchmade River Rescue models, and now they have produced a dive-intensive one (just in time for me to take scuba diving lessons!). I like it a lot, and the fact that they say Benchmade has been unable to get the H-1 steel to rust in a "salt chamber" (whatever that is) is a huge incentive to get one. Now I'm weighing it against the Ocean Master Titanium Beta Alloy dive knife, and I don't know what to do. Granted the Ocean Master knife is around the $100-or-more mark, and the Benchmade is about $70... but assuming price was no matter, what would you all do? Go for the Benchmade in H-1 or the Ocean Master in Titanium? I've had some knives go a bit rusty on me before, and I have a real aversion to having it happen again. I know titanium can NEVER rust, but does anyone know about this H-1 steel from Benchmade? I've never heard of it at all before. Input is appreciated. And since I sharpen my own knives on a Spyderco Profile, please consider that in your recommendation (i.e. is either one particularly difficult to sharpen?). Thanks for the advice from any and all.
