Convex edges and sandpaper

Just being curious...what angle do you guys use when sharpening on a mousepad,etc; and sandpaper..or, do you lay the blade flat? Inquiring minds want to know. I primarily use a small, belt sander with a 400 g. Trizact belt and then buff off the wire edge. Thanks.

Since the mousepad will deform the angle you use isn't very critical, you just press until the edge sinks in and draw. Just outline the edge with a marker so you can check and see where the steel is being removed. You will find that it is very easy to match the existing bevels.

Thanks Cliff & Eric! I really like those convex edges, all my knives have one now. Any of you guys who have a belt sander should try the Trizact belt for getting a wire edge, I use the 400 grit and it only takes a swipe or two.
