Why is the cost of Scallions (and for that matter, Chives) generally more than Leeks on the used market (i.e. eBay)?

Look around the web, it's not hard to get prices for items. Those knives are so inexpensive new that it wouldn't make sense buying them usedif all you're going to save is $5 or so.
