Wanted you guys to know that CountyComm has screwed many of my friends - rude customer service seems to be thier hallmark.

I suggest getting gear from http://www.tadgear.com/

I just got my first order from them - a Fatboy S-type and a couple of knives. Their customer service is excellent, and packing and shipping was fast and well done.

My 2c.

Regards,

Jeremy

Maybe you should post some details to offer some support to your claims. I've dealt with County Comm before and they were more than helpful. Once, when the Inova emergency signal product came out, mine had a loose rattling sound when shook. They called up Inova and verified that it was a manufacturing defect, previously undetected. Then, they went through and shook all their Inovas and found one without the rattle and sent it to me with a $5 bill to cover return shipping. Wow!

How about some details? My transaction with them went very smoothly.

What were the disputes or problems?
I've dealt with them often and even pay by money order. all orders went smoothly. I had one shorted order but that was taken care of. They even upgraded the product.

I too must add that my few transactions with them have been flawless.

What's your scoop man??

County Comm has been great - they took back a flawed Proteus, and sent me an extra 20-pack of LED lights for my trouble. I've ordered from them a half a dozen times with no problems, FWIW. I do agree that TAD is also quite good.

While I too like TAD, I must admit that this is the first time I've ever heard a bad word about CountyComm.

In fact, I bought a Stocker and Yale 660 watch from a friend in Italy. After a while the quartz movement went bad. I emailed CountyComm to inquire about purchasing an OEM replacement. To my great surprise Nick offered to give me a new replacement for free and install it. This, by the way, was the first time I had ever dealt with them.

I have never ordered from TAD because their website is horrendous. It really HURTS me to attempt to navigage it. It even crashed Firefox repeatedly last time I checked. But I am glad if I ever decide to order, they have good service :)

My experience is the opposite, with both dealers. I've ordered from Countycomm probably 7-10 times with no problems and great service, as have a couple of friends(and a zillion other people on candlepowerforums) while TAD is 0 for 3 with me, by far the worst dealer I have ever dealt with, and will never get another order from my direction.

I have ordered from countycomm.com many times and they were always fast and very helpful.

The initial post in this thread is nothing more than the pursuit of an agenda. There is animosity between TAD Gear and Countycomm, though I don't know exactly why. TAD even took a shot at Countycomm on one of their sales pages, saying something like, "Buy this sheath and don't be fooled by the junk at Countycomm."

Countycomm sells many useful items at very good prices. They have never treated me with anything but prompt and courteous service. I've spoken with both Nick and Frank of Countycomm many times over the phone and have never found them to be anything but friendly and helpful. Quite honestly, anyone telling me they have "screwed" numerous people or that their customer service is "rude" I must automatically assume to be lying.

I have ordered from Countycomm 6 times now with no trouble at all. They are A-OK in my book and I will order from them again.

I think Sharp Phil nailed this one on the head.

I think it's funny when someone comes to Bladeforums looking to badmouth someone and finds we stick up for our friends. County Comm just got the best possible publicity out of this, because someone thought we'd believe anything he told us. :p

There is too much experience on these forums for a lie like that to go unnoticed. I just recommended County Comm today, and I have another small order ready to go myself.

County Comm enjoys a reputation as a supplier of what are oftentimes obscure products, great prices, and uncommon service for one reason only:

They have earned and endeavor to keep that reputation.

When I call, the person who answers the phone is able to answer my questions--every time. I speak directly with the guy(s) who run the place. Polite, informative, and helpful in the extreme. Nice.

I have dealt with "CC" over the telephone, via email, and by way of the USPS. I have paid by credit card, bank draft, and even personal check. My orders have been complete, packed well, and delivered (literally coast-to-coast) in less than a week. Rare.

Finally, County Comm caters to a niche market customer, not a mass-market consumer. I use them as a supplier because they regularly carry obscure items that I cannot obtain elsewhere, at prices that are usually well below those of other suppliers and, most of all, because they have integrity: if there is a problem with an order (very rare) do not by surprised should they remedy the situation with interest (no pun intended). That is, they will make it right by you and then some.

They are a good outfit, good people, and I for one am more than happy to defend their well-deserved reputation as a quality source of quality gear.

'Nuff said.

I bought 80 LED lights and a bunch of paracord from CountyComm and the transaction was flawless. Quick shipping, no hassles, quality product for dirt cheap.
