Great news!
I just got an email from my steel supplier...
I've now got some CPM154 headed to the shop.
This is a great stainless and at a good price too!
Finer grain than S30V, good wear resistance, better stain resistance!
So, naturally....I am wanting to test this out on my Bushcraft knife.
In fact, I am now offering the knife in a variety of steel types....still at ridiculously low prices, of course.
I want to hear back from YOU....charts, hearsay, etc...don't hold water when it's YOUR knife in YOUR hand and it will or will not do what you expected!!!
So, here's what I plan on taking with me to the Blade Show (in Bushcraft knives)
I also have some wider CPM154 coming for kitchen knives (a perfect application for this steel).
Thanks!
Dan

So, here's what I plan on taking with me to the Blade Show (in Bushcraft knives)
- S30V (excellent wear-resistance, stainless, pricey)
- D2 (excellent wear-resistance, toothy edge, moderate in price)
- O-1 (tough tool steel, carbon w/ alloys, takes a patina, fine edge, inexpensive)
- 3V (super steel, expensive, tough & great wear resistance)
- CPM154 (very stainless, fine edge, stainless, moderate in price)
I also have some wider CPM154 coming for kitchen knives (a perfect application for this steel).
Thanks!
