Cpm440v ???

Anyone advise why the blade on a 3 month old custom folder made of CPM440V would start to show a lot of Blackish smudge like blotches in the satin? :confused:
 
Hmm, hard to say. I would immediately suspect oxidation, staining or some sort reaction to whatever was in finger prints or dirty hands at least. Anyway we could see a picture of the effect?

Thanks Guys; The knife came direct from the maker in Vegas last January. Stored under glass and never used. Thin coat of Rust Free on knife.
 
I know on S30V, there are micro voids in the surface. Crucible has figured their bar thickness to allow removing .007, per side to get under this.
Maybe T440V has the same requirements.
