I've got my eye on an anodized aluminum Point Guard from Pat Crawford. Anybody have any experiences with this knife? It would go into a rotation of daily carry knives for general utility purposes.

Also, does anyone have a pic of the back of the knife. I'm interested in how high the clip is mounted. I prefer my clips to be mounted higher for deeper pocket carry.

Thanks in advance.

Kelly,

Re: clip location. As i understand it, Crawford knives generally have the clip mounted high for a low pocket carry. My KFF clip is right at the edge over the pivot. The same for the Carnivour that's coming. If you have perference for tip up or tip downl, call Pat Crawford. He'll try to accommodate. Example, he makes the Carnivour tip up. I asked for tip down. No problem.

The Point Guard looks nice. Can't say anthing else since I haven't handled it.

Kelly,

I have one! I haven't had much of a chance to play with it though. Specifically, with regard to the clip location, it has a 3 screw clip similiar to a benchmade clip that is flush with the end of the knife resulting in a deep pocket carry clip. I would prefer a "roll over" clip like the EDI Genesis knife though. I would ask if that as an option because it will allow deeper (vs. deep) pocket carry.

Overall intial impressions? One solid knife. Liner lock function as it should in a properly fitted and functioning liner lock. To release the blade to the folded position is a little ackward becase the liner cutout is recessed relative to the scale cutouts. This means that while a little bit of a pain to release in everyday use, I think it would be rare to find an unintentional release of the locked blade. I will add that I have played with this knife very little again so, I'm not the most knowledgeable person to speak about it. Only time will tell if it grows on me and I keep it forever or trade it on a new piece.

Hope this helps,
Sid

p.s. Mine is the Ti version.
