Okay Dan, I have been wondering if you used a jig to get the lovely and consistant scandi grind on the Bushcraft knives? I have ground a couple of chuncks of steel that end up with sharp edges on them, but I am aw struck at the consistancy. If you would be so kind and feel up to sharing, do tell.

Cheers.

Yes!

I do use an angled tool rest. That's how I'm able to set it at an exact angle. This is done on the Dozier grinder (Tom's) - I could probably rig one up for my KMG, but who's got the time?! :D :foot:

Thank you very much for sharing. Now I just need to figure out how to accomplish that on my cheapo Grizzly grinder :) I will have to practice while waiting for the custom Bushcraft I ordered off of your order tracker.

You can "cheat" by carefully cutting a wedge (triangle in cross section) and fastening it to your tool rest. Measure twice, cut once! ;)

Something like this? A right triangle with a 10 to 15 degree angle at one point and a 80 to 75 degree on the remaining angle? By the way the @ signs in the diagram represent the wheels of my grinder and the lines in between represent the belt. I do not have CAD or CAD skills. :D
