Just got in a Folding Hissatsu it is a very well made knife, it is non assisted opening and plain edge. It opens very easy and locks up tight Avery well made knife.

Im interested in this knife. I have been interested in hissatsu, but I prefer folder... so, this, I guess, is the answer for my prayers. :)

I saw that when I went and bought my newest CRKT, I considered it but I needed something with serrations. Very nice knife though.

I actually know Mr. James William. I met him at a Surefire low light shooting course last year. He showed the class a CRKT folding Hissatsu prototype. I also prefer a blade w/ part. serrations. James told me the reasons why the Hissatsu knives don't have serr. blades is (1) the design is based on the samarai sword which is not serrated and (2) his design is made to be a weapon not a tool, so no serr. on the blade. I couldn't locate anyone selling a folding Hissatsu so I called CRKT. CRKT advised me that the first batch released for sale had some "Problems". The CRKT rep. would not disclose the "problem". She also told me that the "New and Improved" model will be in full production during the middle of August. The only complaint I have after handling the prototype is that the handle is too slick and the knife would have gripping problems, especially w/ wet hands. Maybe some texturing or G-10 on the handle will solve this issue.

I just noticed that hissatsu is tip-up only. That sucks. I guess I could carry it tip down without clip, but that would make reaching it clumsy in fast situations. :(

EDIT: But then again, it is somewhat forgiveable. The design seems to be non-tacky and CRKT closed position in my experience has been tight

Arrived today! Wow, this is one really well done knife. Heavier than I thought, but that is only good thing. Nice! :jerkit:
It's a bit stiff, but I think it loosens up a bit in use and easier to open when I get used to it.

I bought one of the assisted models and I love it! at first it was a little tight, but just opening and closing (playing with) it got it just right. the factory edge is a lil rough (imo) nothing a lil time with the stones won't fix. I love this knife, and reccomend it highly.

It is nice. Well built and locks up tight. The assisted opening feature works very well. The knife is a bit stiff, but the action is fast. It produces a nice hard "thwack" when locking.

good to hear the hitsatsu performs well, anyone have the triumph assisted opener from crkt? i like both of them and the triumph seems a little bit more durable and work oriented.
