Hi all,

This weekend I bought the affordable CRKT Lake Laredo. I especially liked the blade shape which seems practical for precision work. The folder is in general well made, with a useful and unique extra lock, but opening and closing is a bit stiff - I added oil which has some effect. The steel is 8Cr14MoV, I misremembered and thought it was the same as on my Tenacious but that's 8CR13MoV - perhaps someone knows how much real-world difference there is?
Well, in the hand it a rather nicely designed unpretentious EDC. It actually doesn't feel cheap with its grippy G10 scales and elegant brass liners. And there's a practical lanyard hole and choils for 3 fingers. Really, a nice no-nonsense design.
Now I noticed on the CRKT website that these days the knife is sold as Lake Bandera. Or is it? Does anyone know if there is any difference next to a renaming?
One last thing, am I the only one who thinks that it looks a bit like a Klotzli Walker 05 for the rest of us? :)
