Cryo again

I made a couple of gut hooks and decided they needed to go in the same bin as the lightweight (4Lb) hatchet. I decided to go back to basics and make a modified spearpoint. Made a couple of wood models and then forged a good blade.

There has been a lot of discussion on Cryo treatment lately and one statment was that for full benefit the blade needed a 10 day soak in liquid O2. That's a long time. I'd like to hear from anybody that's done this. Does it help. I'd really like to hear from Ed on this idea.

I'm going to forge a couple more blades over the weekend to compare different Cryo treatments. The steel is 5160. Thanks

Well, I package my blade up and send them off to Paul. Five days later I have them back. Paul has them for a total of 1 day. He does cryo on them. So 10 days does not add up. If you are doing deep cryo in N2 12 hours should do it.
