I just wanted to share something that passed thru my hands. It is a BM45C. Has anyone heard of this?
Old school people who have been in the Balisong Information Exchange might remember an auction for a 'first production run' BM45. i think I have handled a similar knife.
It is marked (by benchmade) as a BM45C. Instead of cast handles it has milled handles. Round (much like the BM42 I think) they are more circular than square. The tang pin is also larger and the tang pin ditches are also huge.
The latch is bigger too.
THe box is marked 4 inch satin wh (weehawk) blade eventhough the blade is mirror polished. Maked 1 of 150. the markings on the blade are kind of hard to read too.
The belly on the blade is more pronounced, and the documentationin the box is also pretty old. BM was still selling custom balisongs, leather sheaths and the old school bushmaster fixed blade knives.
Just wanted to share. I dunno if this is a first production run or a special run of 150 before the official release of the BM45.
One little thing piece of info I found out too was that it seems that the BM45 was inspired by its predecessors the BM30 and 35 not the vice versa.. I thought this interesting.. oh well.. enough procrastination...
