This STEK knife is produced exclusively from Damascus Steel. The Damascus steel is 1095 mixed with nickel. A mixture of 60 layers are alternately stacked, forged and hand welded togeter to make a billet. Then 4 ~ 8 billets are stacked together to make a completed billet of 240, 360, or 480 layers. Because the different layers of steel are of this high quality, this Damascus blade is extremely sharp and will hold an edge for a very long time. This is done by the Stek Knife shop by Adam Steketee who produces some of the best Damascus Steel in the country.
Stek knives can be seen in Ken Warners knife publications, Blade Magazine, Fighting and Tactical Knives and Knife Magizine among others.
I have the original, signed by the maker, Certificate of Origin of this knife with the accompanying letter from the shop to go with it.
If you do a search on eBay you will see that STEK knives such as this with Damacus Blades, Damascus Guards, Damascus Pomels with rare Oosik handles are fetching $600.00 to $700.00 plus, after all the winning bidder prevails.
