The knife is a 11 3/8" san mai recurve hunter with handle made up of 2 sambar stag segments and a buffalo horn center piece crafted by J. Neilson.
The wolves were scrimshawed by Mark Schaukowitsch around the black buffalo horn. I originally was looking to have black & white 'reverse' scrimshaw done but Mark talked me into adding some color. I think they both did a very fine job. I wish I could take better pictures!

Beautiful scrim.
Really like it along with the multiple materials in the handle.

J's really doing nice work.

Thanks guys! J. had made a hunter with 4 segments of sambar stag as the handle. I asked if he could make a similar knife with a larger center segment of a black material for future 'reverse' scrim. He chose black water buffalo. The scrimshander suggested to go with color scrim instead of 'reverse' scrim... I'm glad he did! :D
