I am thinking about ordering a custom chopper. Thinking somewhere around a 10 inch blade with micarta handles. Preferably under $400 finished. Can anyone on here recommend a maker who does good choppers?

All I can think of is a big cleaver. Chopper? Maybe I'm just ignorant but this might be better in another forum. Have a pic in mind?

Something kinda along the lines of the ESEE Junglas but with more blade height and a more rust resistant steel than 1095. I thought about asking this in the custom knife subforum but thought it would get more input here.

Adam's not doing large knives anymore, I was after an 8" (300mm) blade length and he told me "no", that he was gonna be doing 3.5-4.5" Knives from now on.

Ah, sorry. There’s Dulo knives also. Very reasonable prices and great knives! Check their YouTube channel. Don’t know if he still has A8mod steel in 1/4” thick, from Bestar.

To be honest - I'd look for a Carothers Light Chopper unless there are specifics you absolutely must have.

Carothers light chopper!! It is a light saber, and TOUGH! Especially how thin it is behind the edge. Really amazing. If you want LARGE he has his Behemoth chopper on pre order right now.
Adam Kornalski - I just bought a A8 Mod chopper from him. Should be here soon. If I need money I might put it up for sale, just a heads up.
MMHK are good blades.
ESEE Junglas are very good for the cost.
Robert P Martin - I have a 3V slimline machete from him, 2 actually. They are well made, amazing HT, and tough as nails. Hold a great edge as well.
Shannon Steel labs would make you a chopper. He will make one you design as well. You can choose the steel, shape, blade thickness, handle material, etc.
There is always BUSSE
