I seen that some of you have been asking for suggestions on these forums as to any ideas on names of new knives that you guys are making .... but, in the past what has inspired you to come up with a name for your new knife? Just a little prejudice here, but for example: Darrel Ralph coming up with the name Apogee & the new EDC for a couple of his knives and Chris Reeve for coming up with Sebenza. What gave you all the ideas for the names of your knives?

So when your knife is born, how do you come up with a name to give it? Any examples where you got the names for some of your present knives? Or, maybe you want to keep that a secrete aye!

Like a writer giving a title to his book, an artist giving a name to their painting or design, or a musician naming his song ....

When I make a new knife.... Sometimes it tells me its name... Sounds HOAKY I know BUT its true... I am sure its based greatly in things I have read over the years though.

A lot of my designs evolve from customers' requests. During these dialogues we often arrive at a name for the design together. My fighters all have the Millennium family name, but a descriptor name is added to it. I recently did a fighter for a fellow in Texas who wanted it to be Texas legal, ie, less than 5.5" blade. We named it the Millennium Texican.

On another design, the customer had the name and a bunch of us worked out what attributes the knife should have. So the design really evolved out of the name. It is the Millennium Duelist.
