Custom Scales for BK2

I was wondering if anyone knows where to get custom scales for a BK2? I really love the coloring of the micarta scales on the Tom Brown Tracker, but everywhere I look I only see canvas colored micarta scales for BK knives. I just stripped my BK2 and I started looking for some scales to compliment the natural look of the blade :)

I guess it depends on what it is. I know it would be at a minimum 40-50$, but depending on what I can find I'd be willing to spend more.

Mag,

Do a search on the "bay" for Micarta Becker scales.. There is at least one vendor there making factory style replacements in more than one color.

Did a search for that term and came up with 0 results, lol.

It seems that if you take the canvas micarta scales, sand them down, and soak them in boiling water with RIT dye or leather dye for a while, it should work. Maybe I'll give it a shot!

Ever think of making your own? If you have a hacksaw, drill, Dremel tool, files, and sandpaper, you can do it and get just what you want.

I made these scales for a Divtul I found at a gun show last year.

Sweet, here on bf, makes custom micarta slabs that you can use to make scales. If you don't feel up to making the scales there's got to be someone on here that'll be willing to take on the work.

M,

I just did search on the "bay" for Becker Micarta and came up with at least one set of Black Canvas grips offered by Saint Cutlery..

I wish I was good enough with that kind of work to be confident in making something like that. I'd have to practice quite a bit before doing anything close to resembling scales! If folks on the forums who can make custom micarta wanted to give it a go, I'd entertain conversations :) Otherwise I could try my hands at the RIT dye just to see what happens :)

Yes, that's exactly the micarta I was thinking about. Found someone who did a BK7 fully customized with it, and it looks amazing. Check it out:

Yeah I know Mike, what he did there is exactly the same thing as what I do :).
