Customer Service on Defective Gunhammer

I am rather concerned about the customer service at HTM. At first, (like within the hour) I received a response via their facebook page, then was given an invalid email address, later a valid email address. That was around a Month ago yet, It seems that I have not had a reply yet from it. I contacted about a M390 Gunhammer with an uneven skeletongrind(not sure the term but one side was higher and significantly more forward then the other side making it noticeably uneven from a distance and by feel) dull as a camel, and Front to back bladeplay. I have no idea if I should wait or if I should trade it off. I already have it listed in trade because I will be leaving the country in a few months for half a year to a year. When should I expect a reply bad? Should I keep trade up or will it be soon enough for me to take down?

P.S.
I was the one who had a video of the rattling from front to back blade play, I apologize for being so public but it seems this may be the only way to reach you since my recent messages on multiple fronts have fallen on deaf ears

What email address did you use? Stephanie is the new customer service rep at HTM, and her email address is stephaniewilliams.ddrcs@gmail.com.

Also, have you tried calling? In my experience, telephone is usually the quickest and surest way to get in touch with knife companies about warranty/repair issues.

Great more issues with these guys. Have you tried calling them? I too had a bad M390 Gunny but I returned it to the dealer I got it from. I did hear something that this company was in the midst of a big move? Maybe that has something to do with not hearing back from them? Good luck!! Maybe they re busy working away on the forum knives! :)

my phone is messed up, it has weird calling issues but I will try the email. I will first see if any of the mods have a suggestion first just in case they have a quicker way, if no reply I will go with that.

Ya, I have massive buyers remorse. Steel is FANTASTIC (optimal hrc for m390) but its so dull and I feel if I try to sharpen it that may make it look like user error or something. Protecting my bases so to speak. I heard that their old CQ guy did horrible. Which in turn hurt the Rep of the company (INCREDIBLY) Making some possible customers turn away (I was planning on getting the FOX ELC "Gunhammer" Because I like Fox Knives but this experience makes me iffy. I figure I will keep it up for trade in case no response. May be time to try a Zero Tolerance in Elmax

Gotcha. I'll be seeing Darrel tomorrow or Sunday at the CA Custom Knife Show. I'll make sure he knows about your situation and let you know what he says to do. (Chances are he'll say to send it in so they can check it out and fix it.)

thanks man, I appreciate it. I really do. As a college student who has to travel for unpaid internships, I find this the equivalent of a car in my eyes. Thanks, even just mentioning it will be more then I could help for

I don't think they can fix it easily because of the grind. It is like the left side and the right side are from 2 different knives. they would have to grind so much off the side that it will end up looking like a FFG.

Glad to help.

From how you described the grind, it sounds like they may have to replace the blade, or even the whole knife (depending on what the source of the lockup issue is). In any event, I'm sure they'll take care of you.

It seems the legacy the old QC folks left just never seems to end. Calling has always been the best way, but emailing should take care of things as well. Stephanie's email is a new one for me. Then again I've been out of the loop. The last time I spoke with Darrel, I mentioned that the QC issues have absolutely got to be minimized. He is well aware of the issues that plagued the m390 KC exclusives. That was still at a time the old QC team was working with him.

They would either fix the grind or replace the entire blade. My RL friend had this same issue with an m390 Gunny. I'm reminded of when the generation 4 Glocks came out that had issues with the recoil guide rod assembly or whatever it was. Took a while to iron those issues out, but they got worked out in the end. Get it to Darrel, tell him how annoyed you are in polite way, and he will take care of it. If it makes it to QC first, ask that Darrel look at the knife personally before it gets shipped back to ya.

I talked to Darrel today at the show, and he said to send the knife and get in touch with him directly via email. Could you enable email (or just send me an email by clicking on my username) so I can send you Darrel's personal email address and the address to send the knife back to?

Will do. Sorry about seeming so rushed earlier. I had waited a month and wished to take it on a very rare father-son boar hunting trip using special rifles (His old Service one that he tricked out and a 30-06 bolt action I built) but it appears the need to rush was wasted due to the fact it has been canceled because of medical issues

I will, Thanks for your help.
I updated the contact info to include the new address to the TX shop.
Where would I find this

Did you get taken care of? Darrel has like 5 billion email addresses. He switches from one to the next for no apparent reason other than to frustrate me. All kidding aside though, even I lose track of the ones he uses. He needs to just quit the email entirely, and have only CS people replying to his emails. I'm sure even he loses track of this stuff.

Pretty sure he has forwarding set up on them -- I'll sometimes send an email to one of the addresses and get a reply from another.

Hey, neuron. Buddy of mine said the stephaniewilliams.ddrcs@gmail.com address returned a mailer daemon error. Can you double check that address?
That's the only address I have for her. If your friend is sure he typed the address right, you might need to check with Darrel to see if it's changed.

It's prob something stupid like a period he forgot to type in. The address my friend used was exactly the one you posted. It returned an error. I'm betting there's a period separating ddr and cs.

Just sent it in, should arrive Saturday there. I included a hand written letter since The email provided to me (one of Darrel Ralph's) I have already tried so I figured a handwritten letter. I apologize for the handwriting because I should have been a doctor, lets just say that. But it includes a rough sketch of the grind problem as well.

I've been holding off returning my GH Bowie until DDR is more settled. Mine, as noted on my thread, has vertical blade play, and was nowhere near sharp.
