Hello, I just became a REKAT Sifu in enhanced D2.
It was quite difficult to get here in good old Germany, but finally I made it.
Man this is a great Knive, I just put it in my Pocket as a daily carry and there it is and it will stay there of course.
I read a lot about the Sifu here in the Forums but there are still one or two Questions my local Dealer also couldn`t answer, because my Sifu was the first he saw in his Life, I`m looking for a new Knive Dealer here in Bavaria by the Way...
Ok my Questions are, does the Rollig Lock need any special care, like Special Lubricants, cleaning or something like this?
Second Question is when the Sifu is closed and you move it fast the rolling lock makes a little noise, like a moving Spring or piece of metall or so?
Third is it ok if a sifu gets wet, i mean the blade is d2 ok no problem by this but can i damage the lock if i put it under water for any reason and how can i dry it out if this happens?
Allright thanks for your answers, cause I`m a newbie with Rekat and i love this knive, so i want to take good care of it. And opf course excuse my not at all perfekt American, I`m working on it, hope it will get better soon...

Greetings from Bavaria, Blacky

Lets see if I can answer your questions in order.
First; the Rolling Lock doesn't really need any special care that I'm aware of; just lube it with any
quality lubricant. Since you are carrying the Sifu in your pocket as opposed to a sheath, I would use a dry lubricant. This should help keep the pocket lint out of the lock.
Second; the rattling noise you describe
sounds like the blade stop pin. These will move back and forth in the liners. This doesn't affect the operation of the knife or lock. If this bothers you try putting a small drop of quick drying glue where the stop pin meets the liner. My REKATS all rattle, it doesn't bother me and I never had one of my REKATS fail on me.

Third; placing your Sifu under water shouldn't hurt the lock or the rest of the knife. I clean my knives with compressed air and relube the knife when dry. Don't worry about your English; you type better English than I can Bavarian(?).

I hope this helps and enjoy you new Sifu.

I took a close look at my sifu and I think youre right with your Theorie about the rattling sound, no big deal, nothing to worry about...
You said something about sheats, do you know where I could get one, out of kydex perhaps?
Sounds cool to have something like the one that comes with the Pocket Hobbit...
Again thank you very much for your reply...
bye Blacky

Welcome aboard Blackie! Good to have you here.
If you are interested in a kydex sheath for your Sifu, look back in the posts dated around 3-24-2001. Rawhide Clyde made a post about one that he got. It gives the address of the maker and shows pictures of the sheath. It looked so nice I have one coming for my new SE Sifu D2. Good luck and haave fun with your new Sifu.

I also posted pictures of my Mike Sastre concealex Sifu sheath a while back. Here's another look:

I was impressed enough that I have bought two more (for a Spyderco Mouse and Native) and have yet another two on order (for a Kershaw Boa and a Gerber Legend multi-tool).

Mike is now making versions that can be used as neck sheathes or as multi-position belt sheathes.
