I just received my copy of the June issue of Blade Magazine (thanks, Ted!). On page 59 is a creative half-page ad by Spyderco. This showed seven people admiring two gigantic Centofante clipits. I wonder if Spyderco used their own crew in the ad? Were you one of 'em, Danelle?

Looking at it made me want to own a Centofante. Nice ad!

I saw the ad too a few days ago. Wondered the same thing myself. However, I doubt it. -AR

First, there was "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"

Now we come to "The Golden Spyderco Knife Co. Show"

Starring: Sal Glesser as the mad cap inventor
Danelle as the hapless, but not helpless heroine to all mankind(well knifeknuts anyway)

God no, not another musical. Hey Danelle can you sing?

Wasn't Danelle the former "Miss Paragon"

Ouch, ouch, stop that!!! Not always on the head!!!

Couldn't be - I don't think Miss Paragon would be able to type...unless the keyboard were way off to one side.

Sheesh, and I make fun of Cold Steel's advertising campaigns...thanks for reminding me about that one! Think I'll go lose my lunch...

Forgot to mention, that pic or ad mentioned above is also on page 9 of the June issue of Knives Illustrated!

Well, if ain't you Danelle, I hope next time real Spydie crews are recruited in the ad

.

One irritant, though. I read Thaddeus's letter to the editor in the same magazine critizicing ATS-34. Ironically on the same Spydie ad, a caption stated "you can't beat the custom flat ground ATS-34 for quality".

Que horror! This from the company that gives us CPM-440V?

William Johson-

Lol!! Of all the places to hear a rocky reference this was definately somewhere down on the expected list. The only problem with it is there's no place to stick your knife!

Danelle is an enigma.

Miss Paragon was not an enigma.

And I make it a rule not to comment too specifically about the physical charms, known or unknown, of ladies who carry knives.

Agree about Danelle, James.

But Miss Paragon also had something enigmatic to her, because I always wondered how those...

Have to stop here, don't want to get banned.

Danelle -- Eureka! I saw your camping pics on the net! Do I have your permission to post it here? Or do you prefer your "enigma" status?

Jani - Miss Paragon appeared in a bunch of print ads in the knife magazines, but not in recent months. You missed a couple of things. The corporate image Paragon was presenting was something out of a low-budget direct-to-videotape action-adventure movie.

You can gather what kind of gentlemen James is from the way he described those movies as "action-adventure".

I think you get a good impression of Miss Paragon if you imagine Lara Croft with long red hair in a thong bikini.

She was, um, unlikely to ever drown. She also appeared to prefer less restrictive garb for agility in a defensive encounter, and clearly placed little trust in the ability of any sort of armor to stop a good blade. Very tactically aware, Ms. Paragon was.
