Just got this one the other day. Blade is a tad over 3". Thicker liners than the Apogee that I got in 2000. Frame lock engages very similar to the TNT. Pivot pin is also larger. Cuts great! I'm very pleased.

Nice knife, I really prefer the Apogee to the EDC even with the wider blade.

Wow, that looks really nice!!! How about a bit of info on it??? How do you like the talonite on DDRs knife? Does it have the regular logo? I can't wait for my MMM...
Thanks,
mmtmatrix

What is the dark finish on that titanium Scott? I know I asked the same question in another thread but I'l be darned if I remember where!:) Very nice knife and I agree with St James that the Apogee is more to my liking than the EDC. That pic of the nuggeted Apogee that ran in the banner on the forums was one of the first custom knives that made my jaw drop. I ended up with one of the Mad Max protos as my first knife from Darrel but that Apogee still tempts me mightily.:D

St. James, I like the Apogee better than the EDC and I also have a couple of TNT's on order from Tom.

Matrix, the talonite blade is awesome. It just melts though things. It is very sharp. It will shave rather easily but not as well as my 420V Apogee. It seems to melt through things. Cut myself with it a couple times by accident and the cut was so fine that it didn't bleed. I'm very happy with the talonite blade so far. The standard logo is on the blade and the clip has a #1 etched in it.

Peter, The finish is the standard rainbow anodizing that Darrel does on most of his folders. This is a pic of my year 2000 Apogee.

The pivot pin on my talonite one is much larger and the scales are thicker. The talonite one seems to be "beefier" but is still light and unobtrusive in the pocket. It represents Darrels evolving his knives and improving them with each new model. When I get a chance I
will scan them side by side to illustrate the differences. The talonite one fills the hand better and has sculpted scales that make the knife a pleasure to hold. I believe that all his new apogees will be made this way. Anyone who likes the old apogee will love the new style. I am very happy with this knife and would recommend it heartily.

GREAT One from Darrel!!
IMHO the new pivot pin and stud are very good.

Do you have the left-hand model or you rotated the picture?
Thanks,

Joe

Gorgeous little knife! I love that blade-looks just like my ArcLite's:)

I was wondering the same thing...because of the logo.

Beautiful knife, Scott Dog! Is the blade the two-toned finish? My recently-acquired EDC has a two-toned finish--what appears to be bead-blasted on the hollow ground portion of the blade and a very precise surface-grind pattern on the flats. Overall, a very striking effect.

Yep, I be a southpaw. The blade does have the two tone finish. I am very pleased with this knife. It also has the number one engraved on the clip. I e-mailed Darrel about it and he said he was only making one of them left handed. Well, I knew that I had to go for it. The price was $449 from The Edge. I thought that I got a very good deal and I got a lot of knife for my money. :D

Congrats...it is a great knife!! Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the picture also...
