I am looking for information on Jack Davenport knives besides what is on his website, such as fit, finish and overall impressions.

Thanks,

I don't own any, but have handled one.
Fit and finish were great.
I think that he's right up there with the best slipjoint makers.

Didn't he win "best overall knife" or some such at Blade last year?

I have handled a few of his current multi-blade slipjoints.

No one can top him. Equal to the best. Big league F&F.

Thanks guys, hope to see some of his work in Hotlanta or at the Florida show, saw his name mentioned on another thread and tried to do a search all I found was his web site, a few pictures and a news paper artiacle from Florida. Anyone know his wait time?

I am lucky to call Jack a friend and own a few.

Good man, great work easy to work with.

Last knife I ordered was a year, but that was before the rise in popularity.

He should be at Blade.

Thinking about a wharencliff trapper or a single blade, figure if he can make a big league five blade rodger a duel or single will be awesome, time to give him a call I guess.

Thanks to all.

He will make you happy (if my past experience is anything like yours will be.).

As an added bonus. He is pretty good with time estimates.

Some new ones

Those are some beautiful knives.

Thanks for all of the compliments people, they feel good and they make me work harder for the things that please those of us that love these little pieces. Thanks James and coop for posting the images. Jack Davenport.

Jack,

You are more than welcome, when I posted this thread it was to gain knowledge, after talking to you on the phone and exchanging emails I feel that I have gain more than that. Your passion as a craftsman has made me view these jewels in much different light, one which brings a smile to my face. Look forward to seeing you at Blade.

James

I found this looking for some information about Jack Davenport as I happen to own a swayback of his that I purchased here when I first started collecting slip joints. It’s really difficult to find much at all even outside of this website. Any links about him would be appreciated.
