DAVID YELLOWHORSE KNIFE

It could and most likely is. Can you describe the knife a little more or even post a picture of it.

By the way welcome to the forums.

Yes a picture would tell us David's work is very distinct.

The knife was inlayed by Doris Yazzie, Navajo.... She is a ex-employee of David Yellowhorse and signs her work as DY-Navajo. On David's knives, he uses his full name and not initials. On the United knives, he use "DY" as the blade identity marking, along with his signature on the back of the blade. Hope this helps, part of the reason Doris uses the DY is to take advantage of the same initials and name recognition due David. Yes, she does good work also, but not the quality and expression done by the master, David Yellowhorse.
