These pictures are overdue, but it took me a pretty long while to take some that I was reasonably happy with. This beauty is Derek Fraley's 4.0 Torrent flipper, and it has a 4" handrubbed Stellite 6K blade and an 9" OAL. The frame, pocket clip, and backspacer are all constructed from white Timascus, the patterned layering of CP and 6AL4V titaniums together. This piece was an old order that I had in with Derek, and it was supposed to be delivered at the BAKCA show last month. However, I was unfortunately not able to make it out to the show this year, so Derek was kind enough to ship it out to me after showing it off on his table all day.

Upon close examination, I feel that Derek has really outdone himself on this piece. The fit and finish on the knife is flawless, and the coloring is as vivid as I've seen on this material. The backspacer is carved with Derek's "Lost Souls" theme, which looks great on the sideways layers of Timascus. Like on all of his other flippers, the action is very smooth, and the knife flips open easily in any orientation with no wrist needed whatsoever. I posted a video of the knife in action here.

Thanks go to Derek for doing such a great job on this piece and for taking care of me like he always does! I was able to place a few other orders with him before this one came up, and I can't wait to see what he does next!
