Fred your MC is done. I hope you like it. The original clip will be on the way back with the folder here shortly. Clip turned out well, and I managed to make it so the lanyard is actually not blocked so its still quite useable although these pictures make it look blocked I think. Trust me its not. Oh, and the grooving turned out well and does offer some tactile grip for a much better thumb and finger purchase to pull it out of the pocket. I replaced that beat up original thumb stud as requested so you can remove one remounted for sharpening. I really don't think that it turned out too bad although I hesitated to do it since I had done my own Storm II that way and thought it was the good thing I did it for myself.
I off centered the thumb stud just a bit toward the back on purpose because there was room to play with to try to avoid the edge line and I did it with the idea that I could move it further out of the line of your sharpening stone if you use the Edge Pro or flat bench stone. I can tell from what it looked like that whatever you used hit all the edge and even the center of the original stud. Hopefully now it can be touched up without hitting the stud. I thought for touch ups that this would work so you didn't have to take the stud off for every edge need. I'd still think you'd want to for the full rebevel type sharpening though. I think it worked for that as it did move it back some while still allowing the stud to remain fully on the old stud. You'll see what I mean when you get it back.
Anyway, here are a couple shots of it.
Thanks for your patience.
Oh yeah. I started the Buck 501 folders also and got the studs on both blades for the opening and closing. I also reprofiled the blade on the one that was sticking the point up some when closed and I actually made up two clips for them but didn't like either of them. I'll use those later for something else, maybe a BUSSTR or something and am currently making two more clips with a little curve to them to fit better on these Bucks.
