I sketched this up a couple of months ago. I'm interested to see what you folks think. On the paper each block is 0.20" of an inch. The blade is supposed to be 1.25" wide just above the handle. The 1.5" stock is to accommodate the swell on the back of the handle.
Here are my "design notes":
1. I specified 1/8 or 3/16 stock in the drawing, on second thoughts, I think it would work better in 1/8 (full convex) or 3/32 (scandi), but it wouldn't bother me to see it ground out in whatever anyone wanted. I'd also be interesed to see John do a knife where he did his typical convexish flat grind and then finished it on the scandi jig. I think this would give a nice thin edge.
2. Blade length and shape, I wanted this to be an all purpose belt knife. I specified the blade just under 4" so it would be legal just about anywhere. I would have no heart burn with a longer blade though. I think the pronounced belly at the forward portion of the blade makes for a good skinner, while the long clip point still makes it pointy enough for piercing the paunch or drilling.
3. On the sketch I over-did the contouring on the handle. I think the handle needs to be fat and contoured, but probably not to the degree shown.
Here is my second submission, I know that I completely copped out on the name.
I guess this set of blades is similar to Fiddlebacks's Hunter/Ladyfinger set. In that the designs are similar with the main difference being one is fat and one is thin.
The majority of the notes (definately the handle ones!

) I posted about the first design apply to this one as well, but this variant would be more suited to spring carry/fishing, while the wider blade and tip design of the first submission is more geared for hunting/fall carry.
I hope you guys like it!
