Dexter-Russell sheath knives...

namely, Dexter-Russell 2022 (10281), Dexter-Russell 2212 (10311), and Dexter-Russell 4215 (10411). anyone ever handled or used any of these? I'm thinking of getting one, either the 2212 0r the 4215 most likely. do they come with sheathes? Most DR's don't. the price at countryknives.com is right though! ;)

A friend of mine is an avid duck hunter on the Potomac river. He likes to fillet the duck breast and he uses one of those. He asked me to sharpen it for him a while back and it got really scary sharp. It went right through and did nine stiches worth of cut in his left index finger. Held a good edge too. They are great knives.

Now when I say sharp I'll just say this- it was so sharp off that stone, that when I held it an inch away from my arm, the hairs jumped off by themselves rather than face that blade!

I've used the 1375 - 1378 series of stiff boning knives from dexter-russell, and let me tell you, I can get those knives so sharp, you don't know you've taken off the tip of your finger until you wash the fish blood from your hands only to find out it's your own!!:eek:

are those knives thicker than the boning knives do you know jackknife?

and off the topic real quick: if you buy the 1378 Dexter/Russell in bulk, it comes in a flat green box with a label on the side that reads "8" wide stiff boner" :rolleyes:
