Dexter:
I liked the short review of the new, flat-ground G-10 Spydie Police model. It was mentioned you felt the tip on the flat-ground version was stronger than the tip on the original (sabre-ground?) version. Could you please elaborate? Because I might be interested in a Police model at some point, and going back and forth deciding on flat or sabre-ground.

I had thought perhaps the tip of the flat-ground version was weaker, but maybe I'll have to reconsider.
Thanks.
Jim

Hi James,

Glad you liked the review. In response to your inquiry regarding the tip, the saber ground version has that swedge grind that removes metal from the tip. Though, swedges look good but they sacrifice tip strength. The flat ground version leaves more metal at the tip therefore strengthening it.

FWIW I prefer the flat ground one because I like the look and performance a flat ground blade delivers. Hope this info helps.

sorry, but what does FWIW mean?

Wow, G-10 Police, that sounds like a great knife. Just curious about a few things: What kind of steel (ATS-55?), around what price range, and finally, how many of these are going to be available?

Sounds awesome.
