For those of you who have been looking for a beautiful display khukuri (but one that would work if you needed it to), this is definitely it. This is the "surprise" that Lalit was talking about in emails to me (besides the surprise at my extra-large AKs!). These things are beautiful but expensive.

They are a little more graceful than SN1s, with horn sheaths that are intricately inlaid with brass patterns. Truly works of art. And the handles! Well, I got two, and as usual, they go to forumites (these babies actually made up for the bump in the road that was my extra-large AKs).

Price is $175.00 shipping and insurance included. In my opinion, undervalued at that price. There are only two, and when you get it, as always, if you think I'm exaggerating, go ahead and send them back to me.

Call on Monday with any questions, or post here if you think I'm smoking dope!

Yeah - I'm not much for the ornamental type khukuri, but these really sold me on the model. I won't keep many in stock in the future, but it's something I definitely want around.

BTW: One is gone. One left.

Just a warning Craig, while I realize this is not what they are, the above picture looks very similar, almost identical infact, to the tourist khukuris very popular in India. These "khukuris" are usually between 1/8 - 1/4" in thickness, have no edge to speak of and are very low quality steel.

If you advertize that picture on your website make sure to clarify that it is made from standard materials and procedure as your regular line. Otherwise people could quite easily get the wrong impression of what kind of blades you are selling as anyone who has handled one of the tourist "khukuris" will not easily forget it.

Cliff: You are absolutely right. I do actually have a picture of one such khukuri that I posted earlier - and the similarities in appearance are striking. Rest assured, though, that this is the real mccoy. I actually held one of those tourist ones in my hands once, and it was not a pretty thing to hold (calling it a khukuri-shaped stage prop would be more appropriate!).
