Good grief Durwood! Looks like a mother lode of goodness there. Is that bottom one a thin whittler?

Wow! Simply incredible...

Looks like "The Find of a lifetime. They are in fantastic condition.

this is the prettiest thing since i bought my austin- healy many yrs. back. we tend to forget the endless variety & quality of the old timers. i beleive the move from an agarian culture to urban life had much to do with the demise of old time quality in many of our products. of course many other factors were in play at that time also. we ca'nt turn back the clock 70 yrs. but i wish we could.

 Jiminey you got a pic or all them??? If you have them, all I can say is WOW!!! Show us more:D:thumbup:!

I love those old DE knives.

To bad that Imperial-Schrade later relegated the DE brand to the bottom-of-the-barrel scrapings. :(

You hit the mother lode there. Great bunch of knives.

So true. I have a DE knife and it's nothing like those beauties. Ugly black composite handles, and the thinnest blade stock I've ever seen on a folder. I wonder when the quality took a turn for the worse.

Nice bunch of knives!
Durwood, didn't you collect those at one time??

Charlie, I actually used to collect Keen Kutters and that endeavor put me in the same place as a lot of Diamond Edge knives.

Okay, I gotta come clean, these aren't mine...thought I'd pull you all's leg a bit...or maybe list a few for sale:eek:;):D

This is only a small part of a large Diamond Edge collection that have seen and handled pieces of on a few occasions. The owner was kind enough to allow me the opportunity to look at and fondle a few more as well as take a few pics. Unfortunately, the lighting and the point and shoot camera I brought along didn't capture very many usable shots. There will be other chances someday... The owner has requested to remain anonymous, but is aware that I intended to post a few pics.

I do have a good line on a few very nice and rare Diamond Edge knives (not the owner of this collection) and am pursuing that as I am trying to diversify and regain some of the fun of vintage knife collecting. It certainly is challenging and I admire those who keep a focus and truly amass an meaningful collection with a theme.

Also, while these knives are in fabulous condition the lighting didn't capture the true gorgeous look of the bone and the patina present on these knives.

As a side note, I did pick up a nice little Keen Kutter

I was just going to ask, does "run into" equate to buying? DE's are beautiful. I've got a couple if there's room...

1st pic: 2 7/8"
2nd pic: 3" (DE logo not real clear (on tang) in this pic)

Mike

I wondered where all the diamond edge knives went. Now I know. Great collection.

I inadvertently created the perfect opportunity for a little fun while I was standing with the owner off to the side (of the knife show) taking pics of the smaller group... A guy came up rather hurriedly (who knew of the owner of the collection) and asked, as if he was shocked, if he was selling some of his collection. I said I had just given $100 for the 7 knives in the group shot. The owner quickly joined in on my joke and said, as if insulted, that we had agreed on $150:D:D We had the guy going for a few seconds:eek:
