We do the family thing on Xmass Eve, so I already got mine, my sister got me a Buck 110 with the Idaho tangstamp.

I gave my nephew a Buck Mantis for his present, and he really liked it alot.

What Bucks did you get or give this year?

i got an older issue 2001 big bucks of N. america ! nice makes me want all 5 of the set!

ME ME I did! And a pretty one too, a Signature 805 sheath knife. It's just perfect, all shiny and new. It didn't seem to feel that sharp out of the box, but in seconds I'd managed to nick my finger, so I sliced up some paper and opened the rest of our Christmas gifts. It's deceptively sharp, one of those blades that just doesn't initially seem to be that sharp, but then cuts stuff like a light saber. My other hunters are instantly obsoleted. :D

My dad gave me a Grand Opening Commemertive 110 that was signed by Chuck and CJ. The neat thing was my dad and I were able to attend the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the Buck factory in Post Falls, ID and meet both CJ and Chuck Buck. I was very proud to show Chuck my Buck Strider 880SP I carried during my deployment to Iraq with the 1st Cav.

Colt, It's nice to see someone else from Washington here on the forum. I live in the Yakima area. You being in the Army are probably familiar with the firing center here. I wish I could have made the drive for the opening ceremony, but I hope to make the trip for the BCCI 20th anniversary event. Thank you for your service and have a Merry Christmas!

I haven't exchanged presents with my family yet, so I don't know if I will get any knives, but I got my Dad a Buck 110.

He was over at the house one day and I wanted to show him a couple of my newer knives, which included a 110. He said he had one as a kid, so I thought it would be cool to get him one.

 :) ...Going to my daughter's place this afternoon to exchange gifts. I seriously doubt that I'll be getting a Buck from anyone today. I do know that I'm giving out a few 110's to the sons-in law today and I'm also leaving them 3 more 110's for the grandsons. Those and the 501's that I've ordered for the grandkids plus the Special 110 Club knife I've ordered amount to a bunch of Bucks that I've bought this month. Seems I get as much pleasure outa giving the things away to loved ones as I do getting 'em...Thanks Buck...for letting me make some folks happy with their gifts this year...as well as making some new Buck fans... :)

I intended to give a two dot 112 to my brother, but I spent so much time reprofiling the edge that I decided I wanted to keep it. I snagged another with the same intent (both from eBay), but the same thing is happening. So in essence I gave myself two "vintage" 112s for Christmas.

I gave my dad a new 110 from Gander Mountain last week. They had them on sale for $27.99, plus the $10 rebate. I couldn't pass it!

NO but gave my Uncle the Walmart 110 in a tin. Also bought one for myself, for $23 couldn't pas it up

Don't you hate it when that happens? I started looking for some good older 110's for my three brothers in law and eleven Buck 110's later I'm still looking!  :D :D

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but...

When you reprofile, does it straighten out a wavy edge??? I have a 426 drop-point that looks like someone sharpened it on a can-opener/sharpener...kind of wavy...I was going to try straightening the edge by passing it by a Dremel wheel...

And to get back on-topic, I guess you could say I got a Buck for Xmas...a custom 2-blader...on Xmas day...so, Yes! - I did get a Buck for Xmas!!! :D

I have a custom shop 110 coming, my wife and daughter picked it out for me, I can't wait...

Excuse me if I'm doing this incorrectly but I wanted to post a question and I didn't know how to start a new thread. I received a new 110 Hunter today which is teriffic but I've been frustrated over an ebay purchase of what I thought was a 1980 ish 110. I received it about 3 days ago and when I realize it wasn't very old I did what I should have done in the first place and looked up on Buck's web site the method for dating these knives. It turns out that it's very easy because of the stamp and this knife is only an "X" 1990. The knife is in good condition, it has the sheath and papers but no box. I ended up paying about $64 with shipping. Does anyone have any idea if this has any additional value, considering a brand new one only costs about $35.

Did the seller represent it as a 80's 110?

If so, I would file a dispute with Ebay and return it.

If there's a Wal-Mart or Academy Sports near you, then a new 110 is only ~$23.97...but there are still online knife sellers [big ones, too] selling them for $59 (the MSRP)... :(

Sounds like you got caught up in Auction Fever... :D

The "x" 110 is no different from the Wal-Mart Idaho's, so IMHO, it has no special value, unless you plan on collecting one from every year they were made (which I understand is exactly what some collectors are intent on collecting)... ;)

If it was me, I'd email the seller with the Buck site finding, and request a refund. If he got belligerent, I'd contact eBay, but I wouldn't expect much from them. (But then, I'm an eternal pessimist!)

I would rather characterize it as being an eternal realist when it comes to Ebay. :( :(

Yeah, I'm beginning to think neither of us will ever find one for them!

Oh, yeah. Anything like that would be long gone as I am hogging off a LOT of metal.

I gave one and got two. I gave my nephew a 112 and I got a 314 and a 322. My 300 collection is no where near done but I now have at least one of every pattern made in the series.
