Dimensional standardization of knife parts

What I would like to see is a dimensional standardization of knife parts so that I can put together the knife that I want. This is no different than I can use any 1 inch scope rings for any 1 inch scope, or any 265/75R16 truck tires on any manufacturer 16x7 rims.

Within a manufacturer, Spyderco or Benchmade, for example, I would like to be able to swap the blade I want into a handle style I want (with the same blade length of course). A Military blade in a Wegner handle, or a Stryker blade in a CQC7 handle, or better yet a Military blade in a Pinacle handle.
