Disassembling Kershaw Whirlwind...

Just got a Kershaw Whirlwind. I've played with it a lot; my thumb is sore, but the speedsafe is a cool feature. I'm thinking of disassembling it (actually; already have almost all the screws out, and it's sitting right here next to the keyboard), but how the heck do you remove the "screw" thing at the end of the handle? I wanna see how this thing works!

I don't know yet as mine hasn't arrived, but if no one's told you by the time my one gets delivered, I'll have a look and drop you an e-mail.

(*really* hoping I can figure this out....those engineering qualifications have got to be good for something after all :) )

Why not try a screwdriver with a bit that fits the width of the thingy mabob that holds the last of the two halves together. It may be a compression fitting too, but I don't think so. At least mine looks like it may screw together there. What a cool knife. Just got mine a couple of days ago and a riot to play with. Great gimmick factor. Sharp as hell too. Keep'm sharp

Danny;
Thanks, hope ya can figure the thing out when you get yours.

Longbow;
Tried that; the whole thing spun around and didn't move otherwise. I tried bracing the other side but the thing just wouldn't move at all then. I also tried gently prying at that area, but it didn't budge at all, so I didn't fiddle with it any more.
