DMT sharpening stones

I perfer sharpening my knives on benchstones. Is DMT the way to go? I like the two sided 10 or 12 inch stone with plastic base?

If diamond stones are your preference, DMT stones are the way to go. They are monocrystaline diamonds, and superior to the cheaper ones.......You really do get what you pay for.

I'm sold on DMT. They work great. Now I just need some of their bigger models.

DMT makes great stones; you can't get much better than that when sharpening on stones in my opinion.

For fine finishing, waterstones cut quite fast and will give a finer finish than available diamond stones, although I've not tried the new DMT ultrafine.
