If so what kind?

I am gonna be picking one up this weekend, before school is back in :)

I'm getting a Handspring Visor Pro

How's about you?!

I have a Visor Platinum with loads of accessories and I love it!

The Visor Pro looks great, but just keep in mind that the Visor line is being phased out. But if you do get the Pro, email me about buying some accessories if you want to! :D

I have a Casio Em-500 and I like it allot. But plan on upgrading soon. Although it does everything I want and more. It doesn't have Windows CE 2002. And when it comes to computer related issues, I am one of those guys that has to go out and buy the newest gadgets. When it comes to PDA's Its hard to keep up b/c they are coming out with new stuff all the time and you can't really upgrade, You have to replace.

I use a Compaq. I think it's a 3650 - it's not the newest model. It does everything I need it to do. I had some problems with the original cradle and it had to be replaced.

I carry a Handspring Neo (smoke), and it has replaced my paper notebook for my police duty notebook. It's nice to be able to use "search" and find suspect names and other info from 6 months ago. :)

Sony Clie T-615C here. One awesome PDA! Gorgeous color screen, very slim, very light, takes Memory Sticks. Highly recommended.

"it has replaced my paper notebook for my police duty notebook" -- I am impressed that it stands up to daily use like that.

My brother's new cellphone is a Handspring, I don't know what model.

I bought a TRGPro from a forumite. It's a Palm IIIxe clone. Another forumite had a 128 MB CompactFlash that fit it, so I've got a good bit of storage space :) I know it's yesterday's news as far as all the upgrades everyone's made since, but I only paid $104 for the whole setup.

What I like best, though, isn't the PDA itself, it's the Palm Desktop that came on CD for my computer. This is a nice management tool, especially the calendar and phone book.

Although I am a !!! MASTER OF GRAFFITI !!! I still like being able to Copy and Paste from my other data sources and then Hotsync into the PDA to carry the data around.

I envy you guys going to school now. We used slide rules for math and sci classes. The first, simple, four-banger pocket calculators didn't come out till I was out of the Air Force -- where I used to do flight calculations on a circular slide rule!

PDAs were undreamed of ...

It's a remarkable device. Today, I'd buy a Clie 665 as it's smaller, faster and has more memory as well as a better screen.

It's about the size of a thin pack of cards and works like a pocket laptop. You can have most all of your data right there in your pocket!

Nevermind the entertainment potential; games, e-books, news services and music.

The above mentioned options don't even touch on the wireless options starting to become available. Email, electronic sending of digital pics, etc....

It's an amazing technology.

Handy device, but my Casio E-125 is a little old (Pocket PC 2000), and I mainly just use it for reading the news while in boring lectures, and listening to MP3's. Before I got it, I always thought that I'd do everything with it (e.g. play games, write papers). That hasn't happened yet, it's still a clumsy device if you're one of those efficiency nerds. I'm not looking to upgrade mine, when it gets too old to use. Another reason I don't use it for everything is that it's too big. PocketPC's can't compete with Palm's in that area. I'll get a new PocketPC when they get small enough to be carryable in my front pocket without a noticable bulge (like smaller mobile phones).

Oh, about using it at school: Yes, it's handy. I use mine to remind myself about homework, exams, all that good stuff. But I carry it only when I carry a bag, so I almost never bring my PocketPC along with me when I'm not at class.

Sony Clie PEG-NR70V - the one with the built-in digital camera. Before that - PalmVx, Palm III, HP-100LX, and Atari Portfolio.

Can't live without a PDA due to bad memory and a severe affliction of gadgetitis.;)

Pocket PC based devices are too large. Everytime I get involved in a Palm based device VS a Pocket PC device, the other party has to go fetch his "Pocket PC" from his bag/car/ etc where I just reach in my pocket and pull out my little computer.

Advanced multimedia is only an advantage if you can really keep it with you IMHO.
