I was wondering if anybody other than a doctor I read about who keeps a 9 under the front seat of his truck...well even him, uses the katathu? I have sold a couple and am planning on keeping one but... I don't know if I have need other than the "Reeves Sickness" that I already have.... what would one use it for? I thought the same about the set of woodies I have kept till I started to use them, so maybe there is a use for this new toy for me....

but it sure is well executed and she sure is pretty....

I just keep them in the safe. Take them out and admire them and put them back in the safe. Take them out and show a friend and put them back in the safe. etc. So not to appear completely dysfunctional I do carry a large wood inlaid Damascus Sebenza daily.

Knife Nut in "flyover country"

Hi tallpaul..I,m one of those "couple" that you sold.....Thanks again!! I used my first CR knife alot #47 Mark V South Africa model.
Used it on Deer and a Hog and camping etc...
Sent it back a few years ago for a refinish.(like new again) then gave it to my son, when I got my Project II. I have used the project II on black berry vines along the Oregon coast but that s about it. I just carry and admire it mostly. The 5.5 Kat will prob be handled just the same..with care..although I,m sure it could handle a black berry vine...The 5.5 is really just a pacifier for me until the 7.5 comes out.then my younger son will get the 5.5...lucky boys....Wonder why the DR, carries his under seat???

I have a 9"er that I don't think I'll ever use. If I feel the need, I would probably buy a smaller Kathathu for occasional carry but even then I still don't think I'd actually use it to chop or cut something. I personally feel that it was made to demonstrate the state-of-the-art in one piece knifemaking--it was not meant to be a user. Others may disagree and that's cool; however, the one that I have will always be kept safe from harm.
