Does anyone else do engraving on Sebbies?

I think I have heard that CRK will engrave a Sebbie for you if you send it in, but I was wondering if anyone else does any decorating on them? If so, who and how much? Also, if someone else does it, will it void the warranty? I know you can buy a new Sebbie from CRK that is decorated, but I already have one that I would like to get engraved. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I've been wondering if Pontiaker would do a "flame job" on a Ti. slab, and for how much.

I'm in for the flame job!

Mine is at CRK right now getting some wording engraved on the backstrap. But FLAMES ON THE FRONT? OH YES!!!!

I was going to get with Matt after it comes back to talk about some other customizations...

If you already own a plain Sebenza, we can machine a silver contrast graphic onto the front face for a cost of $55.00. We can't turn that face into a polished, decorated face, however.

The wording on our warranty reads ".....any modifications that are made to the knife after it has left our workshop will void this guarantee..."

We'd be happy to help.....

Thanks for the reply Anne. I will probably wait for my large Sebenza to arrive so I won't be without a Sebbie.

Anne . . . Can you describe the "silver contrast graphic" in a little more detail?

What we do with the silver contrast graphic is machine a design (unique, freehand - or as freehand as you can get when working a milling machine!) onto the front face of the Sebenza or Umfaan through the gray sandblasted finish. There is no color to the design and so you have the bright silver design shining through the matt gray.

Hi Guys! I have been thinking of doing something like this.I have just bought some sheet Ti and am still in the learning phase.I have done some work with it in the past but not to this extent. This stuff is alot different than working stainless steel.Yes, any mods like the stuff I do does void your warranty.I will show some pics when I have something for ya!
See ya
Matt

Hello Anne,
Would your process work with a Yin/Yang symbol? I'd be willing to pay $55.00 for that graphic on my large Sebenza if it's do-able.
Thanks,
Brian

Pontiaker or Anne,

Does this mean that the fine bead blast you (Pontiaker) did on the Lg. Sebenza that you sold me has "voided this guarantee..." Is this considered "(any) modifications that are made to the knife" or is it just refinishing of the handle??? What if I just take some 1200 grit to the handle? Is that in the same category??

Never thought about it before...

Thats a tough one Michael, since all that was done on your knife was the bead blast? I would think from what I have read about their warranty that this too would void it? But what really goes wrong with these knives!
Matt

Matt,

No big deal! You did a great job: really nice feel to it. The knife is on my belt in a very nice G2! I just thought I'd ask the question, because the small Sebenza I have also has a very nice bead blast by Tom Mayo. Two very nice using knives, with really nice finishes...
