Does anyone have his book ?

If you are speaking of Northern Bushcraft, I have it. It is probably my favorite, because it is focused on our part of the world. He prioritizes fire and shelter craft more than anything, which I like. He spends chapters describing the perfect knife and axe, every measurement you can think of and why. There is a lot of illustrations in the book, which I believe he did himself back in the day, he shows measurements by the length of your arm, the size of a particular finger, paces... I highly recommend it, if that's what you want to know.

Mors wrote one of the pinacle books on northern bushcraft, Its an excellent book and covers alot of the basics. Its really worth the money, buy it.

Yes, thanks. I was tired when I slapped that request together. This sounds like what I am currently looking for.

I always knew that he was held in esteem, but I have many interests~hobbies which rotate into priority and I never went there completely. I have always had a greater or lesser mixture of outdoor interests and I feel that now is the time to get this book. Thanks for the replies guys. It is hard to get the Boreal bug out of you after spending years in it. I doubt that I will ever be content until I get back to that country.

Will the book still be a good buy, if one already owns other books on the matter? Or is it just another read about the basic skills described in so many other books?

Fair enough question. For some like yourself possibly with higher skill levels it may not be needed. I am low to moderate and have had only periferal interest in many bush skills. At this particular point in time I have an interest focus. Maybe it is nostalgia for the north, I miss it. ''When the student is ready, the teacher will appear''.

He still teaches. He's getting up there in years and mentioned he's not going to be teaching many more years. Buy the book but take his class. The guy is an endless wealth of knowledge and experience.

Mors has it dialed in.

I found a site offering his classes, printed materials and DVD's. I'm a do it yourselfer with most things, so the book and maybe some discs should be fine. Thanks for the heads up though.

You need to visit him when you can. Rumor has it he has quite the library. Big enough to crack the concrete on his floor.
