I have heard they aren't actually made in Germany. Anyone have any info as to what country they are actualy made?

They are ,at least have been for over 100 yrs. Some of the old German names have a China line now.But i think H&R is still all Germany.

Fixed blade Hen & Roosters are being made in Spain. The pocketknives are Olbertz or Boker built, if you look carefully you can usually always spot a counterpart to the Hen and Rooster model of a knife in a Bulldog or Boker branded knife.

The newest Kissing Crane knives are built in China. Pipes and Frost from Smokey Mountain own the trademark and can have them built wherever they choose. They don't look too awful bad, sort of like better quality Rough Riders. I doubt I'll buy any of them though.

Kissing Kranes are also made in Italy. The stiletto types always were, now the sod busters are and are marked Italy on them. Hen and Rooster have had a stiletto style that was made for them by Frank Beltram in Italy, and I have also been informed that many of their line now is made in Spain....

The H&R name is owned by Frost Cutlery. As posted already, some are being made in Germany, some in Spain. I'm fairly certain they are having some made in China, at least kitchen knives.
