Does this 'Bali-song' cutlery really exist?

First of all when did BM, or PC change and used stainless on their handles instead of brass? Or was brass always an option and never a standard...??

Also does the infamous 'Bali-Song' cutlery exist? If so how can you tell the difference between a balisong cutlery and say a BM custom when they are both stamped 'Bali-Song USA'??

I have some theories. FIrst of all you can check the sheath. If you have knife stamped Bali-Song USA and has an old style sheath (log inside the flap) then does that mean it is a BS Cutlery? Or is it a CUSTOM Pacific Cutlery?

I have one knife that has the butterfly symbol etched on and not stamped.. funny thign with it is that there is no R (registered trademark) symbol on the butterfly..

I dunno my guess is as good as anyone elses.

You'll recall that one of the Bowie I recently spoke to you about you is the first Bali-Song Cutlery butterfly knife with stainless steel handles instead of brass as attested to by a letter from Les DeAsis which came with the knife. I'll be putting pictures of this knife and the letter on my site soon, but they're slides and I have to mount a different scanning thing on my scanner to scan them.

Did Bali-Song Cutlery exist? Absolutely. If you'd been keeping up on my site as you're supposed to, you'd have noticed this exhibit
