Wahoo!!!!

93 blades....the end of the 2nd batch. On their way to Paul Bos.

Dan

So when will the finished products start to roll out? I'm number 6 on the list and I don't need a sheath. When might that get done?

Man or machine? We will never know.

Which takes longer the blade prep or the handle?

the handle....by a long shot.

Figure on an hour per blade....looking at 147 hrs labor. Starting next week I'll be here all day every day (christmas break)...until Jan 14. I'm hoping to get around 30 done per week. But I've also got a few other christmas orders to fill...as well as catch up on past orders.

So, being conservative, I'll say that I'll definitely have 15-20 done in time for Christmas. Then I'll need probably 6-8 weeks after that to get the rest done.

Seems like a ways off....but it's pretty dang quick considering....

:( Noshtero wants his Nessmuk.... yes he does....

No seriously that is some good turn around on those bushcraft blades. Besides, if we work you till your fingers fall off, then it's no more knives for anyone!

my fingers are definitely hurting today, guys.....*sigh*

Thank goodness for the weekend!!!

Geez Dan. I can't imagine how good a guy's grinding skills get when he's doing 100 + knives a week. You're a knife company onto yourself!!!

Feel the jealousy.

LOL!!!

Thankfully...this isn't the kind of thing I can do everyday....

Although, by the time I was done with the last bushcraft blade....it was taking me less than a minute to do the bevels, start-to-finish. Yes, that's smokin'...:D

Still not as fast as Tom Krein, of course...:D :p :foot:

(but getting mine done so quickly did instill some "friendly competition" in the shop... )

Mike Stewart at BRKT told me his grinder guys can do 90 - 100 in a day....:eek::eek::eek:

Dan has done an impressive amount of work in the shop since I got rid of the chair in the office.... :foot:

In all seriousness, Dan has been a busy little guy! These are gonna be sweet and he is going to be pumping them out very soon!

Keep at it Dan and you will get you some nice calluses! :D

Tom

Now I'm picturing Dan & Tom in a shop filled with sparks & flying steel dust while Dueling Banjos plays.:D

dude...you're more right than you know!!!!

:D

There's a lot of love in Gentry AR!

Tom just used his 1,000th post to give Dan a compliment. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
