do's and dont's before buying a new bali

i think i made a wrong turn when i bought my first balisong and i dont like to follow this route again, anyone here wanna give me some advice on the do's and dont's and what to look for before buying a new balisong, since im from the philippines there are no benchmade or other imported brands here in our country,
 
Why don't you send me email and I'll give you a very good contact in the Philippines. He will be able to get you a Benchmade Balisong sent over there, but you should go with "EMS" servcies for mailing since things sometimes seem to disappear over there. The cost is a little high for this modality of shipping, but I've never had anything lost going that route.
