Here are some crappy pics of that little double bit hatchet that will soon be headed off to Matt ( Long Rifle )
O-1 tool steel forged from a 1 3/16 round bar, curly maple haft. Hatchet is numero uno, this is the first time I`ve ever attempted it, and it looks great, Matt had been kind enough to give her a good test run for us, as it is really pretty much a proto type.

Enjoy

Looks good Ron. The handle looks very comfortable, really like the looks of the curley maple. Was that some material you already had? Lot of time envolved in just making the handle. How heavy is the head?
Ray

Did you ever get your power hammer running?

Thanks Ray!

Matt actually hand picked the block of curly and sent it my way. That was definitely the best piece I`ve ever seen!
I`m not really sure what the weight of the head is as I have no way of weighing it here, but prolly around a pound and a half to two pounds maybe, but I`m not sure.

I got my power hammer running about 4 days after I got it and it works great!
