Has anyone figured out how to make a double bladed liner lock folder? I just can't quite figure out a good way to do this. I know how to do multi-bladed lock back folders....but it doesn't translate well to liner locks. Any thought are appreciated.

Daniel,
I built on a few 2 bladed liner locks a few years ago. It's call the Crosslock and it's made by Buck Knives

Lucky for me that Buck also licensed me to build my own versions, under their patents.

I've also did them end to end and 2 blades side by side. Never did have great luck, using a single split liner. Most had double liners.

Kit Carson has made a 2-bladed liner lock. You can see it at KnifeArt.

Quattro,
Thanks for posting the pic. I still ain't got that pic thing down.

Other than the bullet Crosslock shape, I also do it in my Model 4 style.

Just a gorgeous crosslock Kit Carson!! I have made two double bladed liner locks and expect to make more . Both were with blades about 3" long. What I used was 301 half hard s.s. - .050" for the three liners and .015" washers. The blades were about .110" thick each of course, and I used nail nicks as the system for opening. These knives went to experienced hunters and both have been very pleased with their use.Frank

To go a little further both my blades open in the same direction. Of course both the blade lock leaves move from the scale sides to the inside. I also incorporated a relieved area on the back of the blades that allows a little more access in helping to close an open blade .Sorry I had to split the post and sorry I don't have a picture to post and I don't know how.I't sure can work out to be very practical. Frank
