Double Tang Pins v Kick

I was wondering if there are any clear cut advantages of having a kick over dual tang pins or vice versa. The only bali I've handled with double pins was the SWAT tiger, and its size and awkward weight distribution made evaluation difficult. You folks with ericksons or the Tachyon, what do you think about dual tang pins and how are they different?

Much appreciated,
Henry

Depending on the way the bali is constructed. With the SWAT and the Tachyon, you don't have a choice but to use dual tang pins, as there is no place for a kick to land in a sandwich construction bali. Without that second tang pin, the blade will easily slip through the empty space between the handle slabs (turn bali sideways).

As for the Erickson, I think it has to do with the asthetics of the blade shape. They look nice without having to conform to the restiction of being thinner than the kick. This allows for more artistic executions of a bali blade.
