Hi guyz...I thought I might show some pics of the Barong I am almost finished with, next thing to do is make the sheath for it. This is the first exotic style blade Ive ever done this big, so I am happy. :) Plus its the biggest blade Ive done to date also. The blade is CPMD2 and shaves my arm,its double ground anf 1/4" thick. Its 14" OAL and has Black G-10 handle scales with Spanner screws holding the handles on. The slots at the tip on the spine are whats sometimes referred to as 'BladeBreakers'. If you have seen Keatings Crossada blowie design, you see one towards the back of the cutting edge on his design. A great design I might add. I made the 1st three Bladebreakers for trapping thinner edges and the last 2 for trapping thicker ones. Anyways... enjoy.

Well I hope everyone enjoys my pics, I'll update this when I get the Sheath the way I want it. Thanx for looking. :)

I would personally prefer the knife without the blade breaker slots, but they are there for a purpose, so who am I to say. Overall, I like this knife a lot.

that is a cool design:thumbup: it looks like the handle is well thought out.

my preference would be for it to not have the bladebreakers near the tip as i think it detracts from the design. also it would take alot of leverage that far from the handle. btw i think Keating calls his a spanish notch;)

i hope whoever ends up with this will update this thread with a user review. i bet it can do some damage on some brush.

That looks super cool buity I am not clear on the operation of the blade-breakers or Spanish notch - usually one of these is located at the base of the blade on the premise that when the edges of the knives make contact, the opponent's blade will be naturally directed towards the guard/notch, and once it seats there the defender can make a quick twist to either snap the blade or redirect the opponent's grip, creating an opening. However with the breakers on the spine near the tip, I'm not sure how likely it is for the opponent's blade to be naturally directed there? I doesn't seem like a natural trapping location. But then again I know nothing about barong fighting style.
