I call this one The Big Sandy Hunter.I came up with the design a couple of years ago after being inundated with requests to do a drop point hunter.It isn't really innovative, or aggressive, but it is a darn fine usin' knife.It is also one of my favorites to grind.Thanks for checkin' out my pics.As always any, and all feedback is appreciated.BTW, the Big Sandy is a river that runs through the town where I grew up.

What is the spec for the handle? Is it packa wood?

Oooh, please dont say the "P" word in reference to a custom maker's handle! Looks like linen micarta to me.
 
I work with needle thonges on my knifes and so far only with natural wood. I know about micarta and packa wood and have seen some really nice knifes from both materials. The coloring looked more like packa wood to me.

Thanks for checking out my pic guys.The handle material is black+tan G-10.Normally I sandblast all of my G-10 handles, but I left a satin finish on this one.It's not as grippy, but it still catches your eye.
 
Yes, Sean, yes ! You know I love your Sentinel II, but "BS" (oops, I mean Big Sandy) could be THE ONE. Is this the one you were telling me about a couple of weeks ago when we discussed leather sheaths? Nice work my friend, very nice.
Sure would look good in a custom leather sheath :)

Mike, thanks for the kind words. I can't remember if this is the model I was telling you about. My memory isn't what it used to be.As for the leather sheath, I'm a Kydex nut, but I will admit that a drop point in a leather sheath is a classic combination.
