Sal,

What is behind the Earth inscription on the Native and I think I saw it on the Renegade....

I mean, I could try to guess but it would be far more satisfying to hear you talk about it...

One may want to keep an Eye out for my review of the Bob Kasper designed, Kevin Gentile modified AFCK and interview of Bob Kasper. Sorry about the wait, my review and interview should be online shortly, look for it right here at BladeForums.com. The delay has been getting pictures, luckily Spark has graciously offered to do the pictures. Knife writer I may be, photographer I am not, yet.

Marion - I thought it would be fun. Most people don't notice it. I guess country of origin means more to some than others. With todays manufacturing being done all over the world. It is hard these days to even find out where something is made. Especially in Europe where country of origin is not required on products.

Today, "America" means North America. Assembled in America is diffeent than made in America. ATS-34 is made in Japan. Is a knife made in America with ATS-34 an "American made" item? Are the nuts and bolts of an American made item from overseas? Does it matter? Maybe it does if a wheel falls off due to a lower quality nut or bolt.

I believe that there are basic quality differences to be expected depending on where and by whom a product is made. Yes there are exceptions, but the basic quality difference seems to be consistant. Perhaps it is the old "pride vs profit" question at the core? Just an opinion.

Cool,

I think conscience vs profit might be a better way to put it.

Thank You Sal and crew.

I like the Earth inscription, it reminds me that I am on planet earth, a mmeber of Spaceship Earth, you get the picture.
