I've been reading alot about this knife in the archives.
Is it really a 4-5 year wait for this knife?

I've got a call in to Ed to get some details.
I really would like to get one sometime.
Are their any dealers that currently carry them?

I don't know if the wait is really 4-5 years as my knife has only been on order for a year. But, a couple of times a year you will find Ed's knives for sale on eBay. One expires in just 3 hours from when I am posting this. Also, one was for sale last year at the PKA Show in Denver. Good Luck.

I've got this one on eBay, and it's a complete collector's piece, AS TOLD TO ME BY ED himself...at the Eugene show. (if the auction has sold, you can contact me directly if you desire) Ed said it was worth $2 Grand. It's priced to move...but I cannot discuss that here, as this isn't the proper forum. Here is a bona fide example of a piece that you CANNOT get, as Ed doesn't make them in Damascus anymore. He told me that too. This is 16 years old, sharp as hell, and made of cable Damascus. Ed remembered making it...and it was just before he became a Mastersmith. You'll notice the hand-machine etched "EF" in the blade... Very Rare...

So, you hang around long enough, you find good stuff.

Well, this looks like it has a bid on it, so I don't know if it's GONE or not...as the bid is very close to the reserve... You know how to find me if you need to...

I thought you'd enjoy seeing a shot of one of his RARE pieces...

He usually has a few knives for sale on his table at the Blade Show. If you decide to go that route, I'd get there very early.

That's how I got mine. Had a friend pick it up at the Oregon Show (Thanks Al!). The Pronghorn really is a fantastic knife and Ed's a really cool guy to talk to as well.

Agreed 100%. My little baby above, he just handled like one of his "kids" (I guess it was more like one of his grown teenager

Without me asking, he pulled a little stone from a pocket and began to lightly stroke it over the blade...making it sharper...all the time telling me the complete history of the piece. (that ain't half bad remembering a single knife after 16 years!) He's the MAN.

If any of you Fowler fans haven't seen Ed's video you really should. It will make you appreciate his knives even more, but you'll probably come away with the feeling that he just doesn't charge enough for what goes into one of his knives.

For a brief review of the video and for ordering info check out this thread.

Hello Ty.

That IS a sweet Fowler. I've always liked his straight spined blades, and this is the first I've seen in quite a long time. Indeed the collector's item. Congratulations to you.

Hoss, you know you are always welcome.
