Ed Schempp Kris/Persian 75 mm

Aloha!

Ummmm...I dunno if we were actually supposed to see this one...

TOO late though! I love it!

God bless ;)

Hello Nurse!

Question...

Why's it called a Persian...

Nothing Persian about it.

Spyderco Kris, Keris I could see... Nothing Persian though.

Any word on the lock?

I *think* that picture was released early. I believe there is a smaller real Persian to be release, but not for certain.

As for the lock, it appears from the picture to be a lockback.

Don't care what they call it, I love Kris Blades. They release this I will own one. The lock definately looks to be a lockback as it has the Detent in it.

Think the Persian designation is a mix-up, nothing more. Ed has several new designs in the works with Spyderco. The smaller Persian is one of them. The folding Kris is another. Two separate, and completely different looking designs. I'd bet dollars to donuts that the names just got mixed up. For me, the only "real" questions are, which model does the C104 designator apply to and which of the two will hit the streets first.

The picture was posted (on the other forum) by Tazkrist with the designation 'Persian 75 mm'
and the SKU 'C 104'.i
I believe she knew what she was doing, because she's working at Spyderco .

Most of us think otherwise. It's an easy mistake. Does that knife she posted resemble anything like a Persian styled blade? Both a Persian and a Kris are in the works, and both are by Schempp, I can see where she may have posted the wrong picture by accident.

I'll definitly be picking 2 of these up.

Any chance of a patternwelded/damascus limited edition?

Kris, traditionally are patternwelded.

Sorry, You were right and I was wrong,

The good news is we're getting TWO new Ed-Schempp-esigns.

I got to handle this sucker at Blade and it rocks! A definate winner! Very comfortable!
Matt

I love the thematic bolsters. That the Schempp knives will have a Schempp look as well as a Spyderco look is just the bee's knees!

The original Ed Schempp Kris is made with Damascus blade and bolsters and bonestag handles. The name is "Moro" and it's a beauty (just like the other Ed's knives). I suspect it's a bit pricey, though.

Any chance on getting blade length, etc.? Too bad that Kris isn't ambidextrous--but I'd probably get one anyway.

I'll take one in damascus, please. Kind of ugly, though, who is this Ed Schempp guy anyway?
